This year’s CAG audit reports have been tabled in the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania on 11th April 2013 after being submitted to the President on 28th March 2013 as per Article 143 (4) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977 and Section 34 (2) of the Public Audit Act No. 11 of 2008.

The CAG’s reports tabled in the Parliament on 11th April 2013 involved  Annual General Reports of the Controller and Auditor General on the Audit of the financial statements of the Central Government (MDAs), Local Governments (LGAs), Public Authorities and other Bodies (PA&OB) and Donor Funded Projects for the year ended 30th June, 2012.These general reports are a consolidation of the audit observations and findings emanating from the individual audit reports and management letters of the MDAs, LGAs, Public  Authorities  and Projects audited in the period in question.

The CAG  also tabled  the Annual General Report on the Performance and Specialized Audits for the year ended 31st March 2013.This report involved the consolidation of the observations and findings arising from a total of five performance audit reports concluded in the period of audit.

In addition the CAG tabled four individual Performance and Specialized Audit reports related to Management of Occupational Health and Safety, Management of Development Project Contracts in LGAs, Management of Fishing Activities in Lake Victoria as well as the Management of Procurement of ICT Equipment in the public sector.

The reports can be accessed in both Swahili and English languages.

As it has been in the previous years, this year CAG’s reports will help the government to improve in the service delivery to the public as well as increasing accountability in its day to day activities.
